I know I say this about all my shoots but this one was my absolute favorite! Maternity sessions will always have a special place in my heart. I love having the opportunity to pamper expecting mamas right before their due date. This session was so amazing. I talked to the mama beforehand and she said two words that made me so excited! GODDESS CROWN! Anyone who wakes up in the morning and thinks “I need to be wearing a goddess crown” are the ladies I want in front of my camera all the time.
Now I am the first one to admit I love a black and white photo of a naked pregnant lady holding her bump. However, that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. This session is the perfect example of what my sessions can be like if you are looking for something more on the modest side. We started out this session in a beautiful gold shimmering gown and black heels. For the backdrop we went with a caramel brown color that really made the golds pop. After we were done with the gown, we pulled out the star of the show, the goddess crown.
We did a gorgeous silk toss that really highlighted the bump. I love my silk throws because it gives us the opportunity to show the contour of a bump the same way a more revealing photo would but mama is still covered which is what some ladies prefer. One of my favorite pictures from this shoot is a close up shot of a tattoo this mama had on her bump. Her husband’s last name is Flores so she has a beautiful floral tattoo. I was able to light the bump so that the tattoo was able to be seen underneath the silk.
