What To Expect At A Boudoir Session

by | Dec 17, 2021 | Blog

The definition of “Boudoir” is a women’s dressing room. Boudoir photography is taking pictures of a woman that captures her in a state of undressing. It is a beautiful way to capture intimate moments for your significant other or to celebrate your beauty but for some the experience can be quite daunting. So you’ve booked a boudoir session but what happens next?
  1. Pre Shoot Consultation After booking your session my studio manager will set up a date for you to come into the studio for a consultation. This is where the fun begins. During the consultation you and I will decide on the mood for the session and discuss wardrobe. I will also show you examples of albums and art you have the opportunity to purchase after your session.
  2. Hair and makeup Before we start taking pictures my makeup artist will do you hair and make up for the shoot. I want you to feel like your best self for your pictures which is why hair and makeup is included in my fee. While you’re getting pampered I’ll set up my equipment.
  3.  Wardrobe Once your hair and makeup is done you’ll unpack the lingerie you brought so we can start the shoot. Typically my sessions include 2-3 outfit/set changes depending on our vision. We decide together what you feel most confident in and after changing in my dressing room it is time to start taking pictures.
  4. Posing Most of my clients come into my studio so nervous because they don’t know how to pose. DON’T WORRY!! It is my job to make you look like the most beautiful version of yourself. I know your angles and I can help you pose in ways that seem effortless.
  5. Post Session Once the session is over we will schedule an ordering session. During your ordering session we will select all the pictures you love the most and decide on what album you would like to purchase. After I place your order it should take 3-5 weeks for your album to arrive. You will receive your album gift wrapped in a discreet black box. Inside, your album will sit carefully wrapped in tissue paper ready to be opened.
